Anyone have a CLUE?

I would like to find the metalic components composition to ALL of the internal moving parts.

Anyone know where I can find this Information.

Not only would I like to know but what % of each.

And not only that, but a breakdown of each, I.E.
A timing chain: each part.

Ken he is refering to the destroked version of the 2.7. It is only used in 2wd Tacoma's as far as I am aware. I would imagine you would be better off trying to find out material for the 2.7 as it is probably ben written about more but just a guess.

What are you trying to figure out because you post is rather criptic. THe only way short of metalurgical testing is to find SAE paper or some other trade papers on the engine.

I have personel been into the 2.7 and it was preety straight forward. I did not see anything in it material wise that I have not seen in every other Toyota truck engine. Cast aluminum, cast iron, cast steel, tool steel, spring steel high silicone, bakealite, various polymers for seals etc.... I did not see anything exotic or supriseing.

Even once you know material the treatment ie various heat treatment is just as critical as the material. THe only way to get that is to get it off the blue print.

Want to see in my head the metalic parts that come in contact with moving parts because I think it has some merit to UOA's.

Well Robbie of course it has bearing on UOA. THe lack of conventional rockers, push rods and lifters is why the valve train wear is so low and it shows in the UOA.

It does not take much time to yank the valve cover off of your engine.

If you look at the valve train set up on the sieana I think you will be able to get a good idea of how yours is setup. They use a simalr design!

I have seen mine, it looks fine. But I pay someone to remove that, and it is not that quick of a deal for my truck, but yes I've seen it but would like to better understand the metals and like parts.

As we know the "real cost of engine lubrication" is not the price of the oil "per se", rather the costs associated with not using the correct lubricant. I think as well, the real costs or ability of deciding and not deciding WHERE to look or WHEN to drain, they also stem from not only knowing the oil, but the parts, their functions and general lifespan (in PPM - per OCI) with a normal OTC oil. If I better understood then I'd be better equiped! So would everyone else.
