Since synthetic is often available with a deal, you may as well run it.
You could take advantage of rebate deals on both Quaker State Ultimate Durability and Pennzoil Platinum or Pennzoil Ultra by resistering you Altima for both the Pennzoil and Quaker State warranty rebates, for example.
If you have no interest in chasing deals, a 5K OCI on whatever current spec dino is on sale should also be fine.
WRT leaks, I've never seen them on engines we've run on 90% syn OCIs from new.

I switched from 5w30 conventional that all my prior cars had used (incl 2 altimas that got to 195k/175k miles before I let them go), to 5w30 syn (Penn Plat) when I got my 05 camry last year, because I got a couple of jugs for less than I usually pay for dino...so why not?
In a couple of years another rebate deal will come around and I'll get another couple of jugs then....and they'll last another couple of years.

Well since you are stuck on 5000 mile intervals just find a conventional you like and carry on. At that mileage you are likely not even stressing the conventional oil either,so why spend more than you have to.
Pennzoil Conventional is a great conventional and I use it very often. Put it on your short list of oil to try.

At that OCI, there is way too much overthinking that goes into oil selection.
