Has anyone used one of their oils in a street vehicle?

I mean the actual street car oil, not their racing oil, stabilizers or any additive.

The oil itself is fine but not worth the money IMO. It has a sodium add pack similar to Valvoline. I would wait for a sale on Maxlife or Synpower (which has been looking strong with TBN retention as of late) before I went with over-priced over-hyped Lucas. As for their other products like their oil stabilizer...stay away...not needed.

So what you're saying is, it's a good oil but over priced?

Lucas has done some incredible things for the sport of drag racing and I'd like to support them, if it's a decent product.

If you are talking about synthetic gear oil, then, absolutely I would recommend Lucas Synthetic 75W140 and 75W90 gear oils. I use both grades in my '06 Magnum AWD and have seen an increase in 1/4 mile time over Castrol products in the front and rear diffs on the same engine running the exact same fuel (within weeks form the same station), conditions and engine oil (Valvoline SynPower).

So, all-in-all, yes it is a great oil, and I have tried Valvoline Synthetic 75W90 for the front diff, but experienced more wear than the Lucas since my diff upgrades.

I am all about supporting companies that I feel have agendas I care about , but I wouldn't spend 5 times the money for only minor amount of gain.

I like Tesla cars , but I wouldnt buy one for atlease another 5 years ( even if I had the money right now ).

Mobil1 has done right by consumer , right amount of "ingredients" and price, so thast why they have strongest supporters globaly.

^ that model makes more sense to me.

Valvoline has also done alot for the racing world. Been around for many years in racing. Oh and it's alot cheaper to purchase.

I used it once, and don't want to blame it...but my engine showed a heck of a lot of varnish after that OCI. Not sure if it was to blame or not, but I tried it and that is the only negative or positive I can say about it over any of the other oils I have tried.

It's very difficult to separate hype and reality with a very technical product like engine oil. A real world testing program would be expensive. Anecdotal information can just get you confused. It all this was not an interesting problem then Bob Winters might never had started this Website. The question you ask is difficult at best to answer. Most standard oils and many synthetic oils will do the job if the right application information is obtained and followed. And with these words I've managed to say nothing.
