According to the Mobil website, no, as there are no special filter requirements, but the Mobil filter is recommended (of course).

"Does this apply to rear end differentials and automatic transmision fluids?"

As long as the equipment is mechanically sound, then you're safe to use Amsoil or Redline for the GM service intervals (if not longer).

So I should follow the manual for 2005 Corvette A-4 as it states first Automatic Trans service at 50,000 miles and for rear end diff no change is needed unless there is a leak or problem.

Perhaps but I looked on the back of a bottle of Mobil 1 extended and compared it to the 5w30 Mobil 1 and it doesn't specify the "GM 4718M" spec.

Technically yes, however many, myself included, that do not like the idea of leaving fluids in the differential without changing it. As discussed multiple times "lifetime" fills seem to mean 100,000 miles.

Amsoil's product recommendation show Severe Gear 75w-90 and Amsoil Universal ATF spec'd for your car, GM CANNOT void your warranty for using these fluids. As for Redline, you'll want to contact them to determine if/what their gear lube and ATF recommended are.

I did contact Redline and they have everything that is needed for the 2 components.
Though not licensed by GM (another story) The Redline D4 ATF meets the new Dexron 6 specs which is replacing the Dexron III (h).
Redline 75w/90 also should be ok but I'll have to see if it passes that

9????? number spec. as It must state that number on the bottle. So it is Redline vs. Amsoil who will win?
