Are there any concerns from switching from a group III synthetic (ie. Quaker State) to a group IV or V synthetic (ie. Amsoil, Pennzoil Plat)? Just wondering...thanx

Group V except for the euro formula evidently.

European PP is 100% synthetic the PP sold in the USA is a mix of base stocks and would not be allowed to called a Synthetic in Europe or anyplace else on the planet. Do not get me wrong PP is a good value especialy in the Jugs sold at Walmart. It is not on par though with M1,Amsoil,Redline,Pentosin,Motul,Fuchs,Penrite etc.......

At least in Europe that "law" has "softened". A lot of grp. III oil is now marketed as "100% synthetic" or "100% synthetic technology".

Yep.. Terry gives it a good grade for wear protection. The American is Group V.... not III.

My S-10 4.3 used 8 oz. in 4K. Before it was using 16 oz in 4K with Castrol Syntec & Supertech Syn. The dipstick is staying cleaner also. Not sure either one matters most ... but I like to see both occuring with the Platinum. Dashboard oil gauge pressure readings appears to be around the same for all three oils I used. Quietness is about the same also.

John Browning know your facts before you start bashing products. I for one is tired of you doing this.
