I agree but as pdarm pointed out the 0w50 spec's are way off anyway. Not picking on Sustina as other company PDSs are not very accurate either particularly for low volume heavier oil grades.
 
With all of the supposed low temperature benefits if this super high VI product, you would think they would make MRV and CCS available. The pour points are respectable but nothing special for a synthetic. Lower pour points generally correlate with better MRV and CCS performance.

And Red Line 0W-XX oils have a PP of -76F although their MRV and CCS spec's are anything but impressive. RL is not an oil one would really consider for extreme cold performance.

So "generally" doesn't count if you're actually choosing an oil because you're going to be starting at -40 degrees; you what to know actual performance and only CCS and MRV will tell you that.

There are more examples of lower pour points correlating with lower CCS and MRV than the converse. What are the "anything but impressive" MRV specifications for the Redline 0W-XX oils?

Since you have not responded to my query regarding the "anything but stellar" MRV data for Redline 0W-XX oils, I will provide them for you:

0W-20: 14,000@ -40c

0W-30: 14,800@ -40c

0W-40: 15,500@ -40c

For comparison, Mobil 1 0W-40 has MRV of 31,000@ -40c, Mobil 1 0w30 has a MRV of 13,250@ -40c, Pennzoil Platinum 0W-20 has a MRV of 17,700@ -40, Mobil 1 0W-20 has a MRV of 9200@ -40c.

Your contention that Redline 0W-XX "MRV and CCS spec's are anything but impressive. RL is not an oil one would really consider for extreme cold performance." is pure nonsense. Mobil 1 0W-20 is clearly a standout in extreme cold, but all of the Redline 0W weights would be excellent in extreme cold. In the 0W-40 weight, it is no contest. BTW, the pour point for Mobil 1 0W-40 is quite a bit higher as well. As it's pour point has gone up through formulation changes, so has it's MRV values. The folks at Redline are awaiting your mea culpa.

BTW, for "extreme cold performance", Red Line 0W-XX oils are the ONLY ones I know of that would still be a liquid in Arctic and interior Alaska winters where temperatures can drop below -60 F. Everything else out there would become a semi-solid without a pan heater and even that would not prevent solidifying in the rest of the motor. Thus, "PP spec's are best ignored" should be ignored for extreme cold conditions.
