Surprising VW Aerodynamics

That was a quick lesson in the limits of using a drag coefficients to compare aerodynamics.

Not surprising at all. Type 2 has a much smoother shape
compared to the ten years older design of a beetle wtith its
exposed fenders and its 1930's back which actually isn't a
true 'fast back' but in fact its weakest point aerodynamically.
Since the cross-sectional area is of course a factor of equal
importance Type 2 still has higher drag than Type 1 (Beetle).
