For those of us who are n00bs, can you tell us what other synthetic oils are made by WPP?

Usually house-brands from places like Walmart, Sears, Meijer... just to name three. Look for the WPP on the jug-bottoms. I believe Meijer is slowly phasing-out WPP. I believe all their future Meijer brand-name oils are being produced by Citgo.
What is the "WPP" and who is SOPUS?
I'm thinking about putting this into my 07 Optima. The only WPennzoil Platinum 5w20 on their web page is semi-syn. I'm thinking Wal-Mart might be selling this as a dino in order to hit the weight with the present marketing.
Could be. Up here the Supertech 5W20 conventional costs a fair bit more than the other viscosities, so there might be a little bonus hidden in there.

You are exactly right. Last week I bought a case of the Super Tech 5w-20 at my local Wal-Mart. It must have been at the top of the shipment because it had an actual Warren oil shipping tag stuck on it and it said "Warren semi-synthetic 5w-20". No where on the Wal-mart bottle does it say semi-syn. Most people agree all the 5w20 conventionals are semi-syn, to meet spec. Probably true , but now I know the Super tech is. I wonder if the products actually labelled semi-syn have a higher percentage of synthetic ? I'm sure it will be a decent performer for +/- 1.50 qt.

I gotta tell ya, if the Super Tech filters are any indication, WM customers have a pretty good 'no brainer' in the Super Tech oil + filter. I know I tried the Super Tech oil filter after 40 thousand miles of FRAM, NG and Gemini defrauded me with one of their house filters when I brought them a Honda OEM and all those filters worked equal to the Super Tech filter. I'm sold on Super Tech filters now and oh what a bang for *my buck*.

I have no information, but i would assume that means Warren Nebraska.

Spous is (SOPUS). Their oil family includes Shell, Pennzoil and Quaker State. There's no doubt that SOPUS is superior to WPP. There's enough evidence of that over at UOA Messageboard here. I wish our Walmart SuperTech oil was SOPUS. If I want the same pricing while shopping there, I reach for Conoco's Trop Artic instead. That Conoco family (Motorcraft/Kendall) is superior to Supertech also.
SuperTech 5w-20, I predict it to be a poor seller.
The name says it all.
Not that it's bad, I'd use it if it was free, but generally people are so skeptical that they overthink it.

At the company I currently work, I service all the trucks, I actually volunteered at our branch office, because Iam a oil freak and I thought it would be fun and save them money. The trucks were being badly neglected until I started doing it and it bothered me. Anyhow they(of course)like to go the cheapest possible route, and I ussually find closeout oil and purchase it to save them money, but when the recent stock ran out, I ended up going with Supertech 5w20(Our trucks are all Newer Fords) and I will say I was really impressed, we run the oil to 5000 miles and it seems to hold up as good as any and better than alot. One oil that was awful was Advance auto brand, the trucks all used oil like crazy, where they never did since or again after it was gone. Ill probably stay with the Supertech, it seems thick for a 5w20, but performance is as good as Valvoline, Castrol, Pennzoil or Quaker State, that I used, compared with appearence of the drained oil and performance of the gas milelage and engine sound, of the oil. Not exactly scientific but a observation.
Does anyone know if the Super Tech 5W20 meets the Ford WSS-M2C930-A Specs? THANKS!

I'll have to double check, but I would have sworn that the AAP house oil in buffalo, ny has WPP on the bottom of the bottle.

Wow, I definately dont agree with you on that statement. Supertech is a fine product and shows good used oil analysis on sensible intervals.
