Supertech Full Synthetic 5w30 No dexos?

who would they turn to if not warren?

Has anyone looked at te specs on the one without the DEXOS on it. IT is all dexos GM spec oil.

John Deere oil that goes into $500k tractors meets all the API donuts and whatnot standards, but they don't pay to play to get the guarantee on the box. That's actually kind of funny considering Deere is a poster child in the right to repair debate, but I digress, lol.

I dont think it was too recent. I have been buying SuperTech 20k for the last 2 years specifically because the 10k did not carry the dexos certification.
EDIT: at least in my area, that is how it has been. I dont recall if there was always a logo on the front, I think I always checked the back label of the bottles.
It was no more than two weeks ago.
John Deere’s historical pattern of having 3+ vendors for their product, sort of precluded them to setting their own hard standards. JD actively changes vendors all the time.
That being said, I’ve always been at a loss of why they haven’t ever improved upon J20C/J20D. Instead letting the market place sort of figure it out with lawsuits around 303 and such.
not here. as I said, it has been that way for well over a year, maybe 2.
Probably decided Dexos wasn't worth the licensing fees any longer.

This only matters if your GM product is under warranty, correct?
Doesn’t matter then either, for what it’s worth. The manual only really “requires” an API licensed oil.
Here’s the FTC consumer alert regarding warranty. Also a press release from the Independent Lubrication Manufacturers Association attorney.
Ours seems pretty specific about Dexos.
"Use full synthetic engine oils that meet the
dexos1 specification. Engine oils that have
been approved by GM as meeting the dexos1
specification are marked with the dexos1
approved logo.
Failure to use the recommended engine oil
or equivalent can result in engine damage
not covered by the vehicle warranty."
Key word there is “recommended” which is legally not the same as “required”.
Feel free to gamble on your own dime. This Yukon was ridiculously expensive. I was mainly asking about my older, out of warranty truck and if using non-Dexos oil would affect anything. I figured it wouldn't but wanted opinions.
