I read somewhere that some oil companies are no longer paying for 5W20 Dexos since GM is 0W20 in that range??? Anyone else hear or read that?

Some brands and lines have claim to meet Dexos1.2 on 5W-20, while others (including Supertech, the last time I looked) don't. Since it's unclear whether brands that don't claim to meet it could if they paid, I buy a brand that says it does.

Why does every one of these threads turn into a stupid, insignificant Amsoil argument? If people could just stay on topic, that would be nice! You can literally search and find hundreds, if not thousands of posts with people arguing over Amsoil vs. (insert competing brand name oil here)..
0W20 and 5W30 synthetic is DEXOS certified.

Going by some pds I saw a couple of years ago before they even included dexos on the lables, it was already a dexos oil. I wouldn't worry about using it. Also it was on the dexos approved list before too.
