I was at Walmart the other day and picked up a supertech filter for my truck. I going to run it for my next oil change. Never used an ecore on my truck before. I'm sure it will be fine. I know there are mixed reviews on this boards about ecores but I'm looking forward to trying it. What do you guys think?

Got a couple of those cheap that I'm going to put on the old 5.7 gas Suburban (Valucraft from AZ), I'll cut them open after see how they do. As long as there's not excessive moisture in the oil they should be OK.

Run it the entire OCI...you'll be just fine.
Supertechs are all over the map. Some models are really nice filters for the money, others are cheap as can be ecores, and others are somewhere in between. One thing I think they all have in common is the cheaper nitrile ADBV seal. They're all at least serviceable for 5000-ish mile OCIs, and the walmart $2.84 price is really hard to beat if you're pinching pennies.

Even the "cheap" E-cores are decent filters for the bargain.
Get a gallon of Super Tech oil and a filter for a huge bargain. Good oil and filter combo for 5000 miles. I've used them many times before with absolutely no issues or worries. Never lost a moments sleep over it at all.

I have had zero problems with the Super Tech filters. Even ran a few to 11k with no problems...

Yeah they most likely can go longer than 4000 miles. That's just the interval on my truck. Looking through the cage on the inside of the can their seems to be a lot of pleats and they look tightly packed. I would try to post pictures if I could figure it out.
