When I bought my 24 Silverado I bought a 12 pack of oil filters for the 2.7 turbo. These were the classic PF 66 with ecore/metal end caps. As we all know, Champ came out with a revised filter design with more hole space in the base plate for increased flow. I still have about five of the old style left. I’m 99% sure I’m just going to run them (with the belief that the engine got validated with them). I just wanted to get other people’s ideas. Is the updated design that crucial so as to replace any old stock?

Use what you have. No down side.

The only time it's going to "increase flow" slightly is at high RPM when the pump is pressure relief. And even then, the difference in flow won't matter anyway. More oil filters have been sold by the perceived flow of the base plate than anything else ... more and bigger holes sells more filters, lol.
