Supertech filter or Fram ultra

I maintain 4 vehicles. I do 6k oci with a fram ultra filter every second change. Reading this site causes me to overthink things. Would I be better with a supertech 10k filter at every 6k Oci or the Fram ultra at every second change which would be at 12k?

I've been using the FRAM Ultra for 2 OCI(5K-6K miles each) but, I wouldn't hesitate to use the ST for the same.

If you don't mind just change the Ultra every two oil intervals like you've been. IF it is the same cost or less, maybe even slightly more than it could be worth changing the filter each time with a cheaper priced filter.

How did you determine that the proper OCI for all-4 of your vehicle engines are 6k OCIs?
Are the oil brands and grades all the same too?
That's Interesting! For all we know here at BITOG, your-4 could be (hypothetical) GDI - TGDI - MPI and DOHC engines.... all little-bit different from one another.

I maintain four vehicles and I adopted three different OCI timetables - three different oils - two different filter brands - two different grades of oils. I adopted a mind-frame on what's best for the engines and not what's best for things like simplifying the routine. I use a phone calendar and notification system for reminders, since mine appear different and a little more complicated from yours. In the old days, I hung a wall calendar on the garage wall for scheduling maintenance matters.

Whatever works best for each individual and each individual vehicle I guess. That's all that matters-most.... trying to make both the maintainer and the engine happy campers.
I vote for the Supertech filter every 6k OCI btw.

Neither are my favorite but out of those two the Ultra.

Is it a cost thing or hard to access filters ?
If it's cost R.A. has good prices and absorb the shipping cost over many filters.
I say change it everytime if you can.
That being said I maintain 4 trucks, 1 a toyota 4 runner gets a new filter every other change because it's a job to get to the filter, that being said it still gets changed every 10k

I vote for the Supertech filter every 6k OCI btw.

They are all Toyota engines. 4.0l, 5.7l, 3.5l. Although one of the 3.5 is the newer 2grfks.

I’m a fan of one change/one filter so the ST gets my vote. That said there are reasons to double up which are valid. More cost effective, accessibility of the filter makes changing difficult, or to reduce waste.

I'm no expert but prevailing wisdom is that if the filter is a pain/mess to deal with then filter every other OCI is going to be fine, especially with a better filter.

My 2012 CRV filter is easy to switch out so I use a cheap supertech filter and change it every OCI. My 2014 Accord filter is buried in a weird spot and makes a mess on the frame so I change it every other OCI and use a Fram Ultra.

I change the CRV oil every 9-10 months/4K miles and the Accord every 5-6 months/5K miles.

If your Toyotas have that stupid plastic filter housing then I can see why you'd want to do double OCI filters.

SuperTech is 99% @30u. It's printed right on the box.

No ... but a leaky high efficiency filter is still more efficient than a leaky lower efficiency filter.

The SuperTech filters can also have a ruffled metal leaf spring on the metal end cap ... it's a Champ Lab thing.

For the life of me, I can’t figure out why someone would skip changing the filter at the time the oil is changed. Please don’t even try to explain it to me. I still won’t understand.
