Once again another good ECORE cut open for me. No endcaps were unglued, everything was on tight where it was supposed to be. Time on filter was 3k miles on Chevron Supreme 5w30 conventional. Reason I only did 3k is some heavy towing. I replaced it with a Champ non-ecore AcDelco Pf52 I had sitting in the garage and some Valvoline w/b 5w30.

OH and before you metal endcap people come ready to lynch the filter due to the shots above, I had to peel it half way to get the spread out media shot and to remove the cage.

Your Welcome

Are you making the switch back to Valvoline conventional? How did you like the Chevron Supreme? I'm running the Supreme myself and curious of your thoughts on it in the 4.3L. If Costco or Chevron runs another instant rebate I'll be sticking with it.

Just wanted to know what you thought.

I liked it, got 1mpg more with it vs Valvoline. I myself am probably going to switch to it fully because even at its regular price (25.99) its cheaper than buying 5qt jugs at walmart by 2.50. It ran great in my truck and by the used oil analysis here at this site its a top class oil.

naw, figured I'd kill off the non-ecore champs and few NAPA golds I got. Then I will restock with either acdelco ecores or st's.

I would really like to see a direct comparison between a current AC and and ST. In the past, ST and STP were much alike, but AC had half again as much media.

I have one on my 3.1L chevy right now. Not sure if it is hte older kind or an Ecore. I bought it about a year ago I think. I like the PF52 over teh PF47 since I can get a full 5qts in there instead of 4.5.
