Super Tech FS prices have increased again

That along with their new buyer may have decided they wanted a bigger profit margin. No worry lots of oil as good or better beat that price.
I suspect the oil manuf. have been waiting in a standoff with the other players waiting to see who increases prices first - nobody wants to lose market share. I think most have been waiting it out to see what the market does. As inflation appears to be here to stay for a while I suspect they’ll increase prices in unison.

Now I wish I would have checked the in store price for Costco Kirkland oil when I was there last night. The 6 qts of M1 for $30 isn’t such a bad deal now! Maybe they have a supply contact with Warren that will expire at some point.
The only Kirkland oil at the two Costco's in Anchorage is 0W20. It's been that way for at least 2 months, probably longer. Mobil1 is all they have otherwise. :(

I stocked up on Kirkland and Valvoline Advanced 5W-30 oils last summer/fall. Have three jugs of each, to include a jug of Edge 5W-30. :)

Yikes.. I just got my order of a 12qt box of ST synthetic 5w30 and a 5qt jug of the 20K mile synthetic 5w30 dropped off today at the old price. It was ~$67 with tax. That same order would cost me ~$83 today. Nothin' like a ~24% instantaneous increase.

I may have to pick up some 5qt jugs of Napa synthetic blend 5w30 while it's on sale for $12.99 this month.. I hate to drop back to a blend, but I don't extend my OCIs, so it's a non issue.

Walmart still has the 6 quart boxes of Havoline DS full synthetic for $19.97 ($3.33 a qt.). I just ordered 5 boxes of 5w-30 and I'll order more next month if the price hasn't changed. I was ordering Magnatec from Amazon for $17 per 5 qt. jug on subscribe and save but the price just skyrocketed and Castrol has discontinued Magnatec so Pro DS it is.

It looks like ST (Warren) is under new managment and wants to make their money back. I wonder if they will kill the golden goose. That oil was a bargain at $5.78. But, at $8.43... nope. I won't buy any more of it. I'll use Mobil-1 15W-50 which is $5.49/qt (five quart jug). I don't think the Kawasaki engine in my mower will know the difference.
They are a blender and suspect several supply chain costs went up as yearly contracts expired

For sure that played into it.

Seems to go against all that is Walmart though. If you can get a name brand oil on walmart's shelves for the same or less cost, what's the point of Supertech?

Makes me think the ST line of lubes will go the way of the ST oil filter. Fewer and fewer choices.

I would suggest everyone buy as much maxlife off of amazon as possible for the 17.97 that it is per gallon, before it jumps back to 23 dollars.

I still see normal prices...

How is the napa synthetic blend? The ones local to me don't have the 5w-30 variety but they do have 5w-20.

I just bought some Valvoline 20W50 Motorcycle oil ($4.63/qt) and Quicksilver (Mercury Marine) 10W40 syn off road bike oil at $5.47/qt.
Reasonable compared to ST.

I'm currently running Quicksilver 5W40 in my '21 Brute Force 750 and it starts easy and runs smooth.

I would have to think all the majors are experiencing the same thing. My guess is that their prices will rise as well. The ones that have everything in house like ExxonMobil, Shell and Chevron the increase may not be as much.

Could well be - Walmart gets plenty from me - I see energy companies as more vital and more likely to take us to the next level - and they

Sure - and it takes enormous resources to run and feed process equipment …
