Hey hey. The world is exploding around me, somewhat but not really. Just seeing this Sunday A.M. .... sorry for all delay
@OVERKILL and all.
Okay, haven't even seen the pictures of how the filters look yet but I can tell you that I've used a ton of cleaners. A ton. Like, literally, a lot. This all started last year with the HPL stuff, I purchased some, I do believe I was gifted some, speaks to the excellent character of everyone at HPL, truly outstanding. One-sentence backstory: Somehow, some way, I never made it to the event in August (despite planning all summer and hitting the road to go) so. Enter EJ engine with unknown mileage, had to go to some lengths to get it.. sat for about 4 years, approximately maybe, car it came out of was scrapped and crushed, luckily they saved the engine, didn't want to turn due to how long it sat.. so, the filters you are seeing are filtering that unknown mileage engine that did say RUNS GOOD on car-part.com ( even the pictures I saved of the donor car complete with VIN# are gone, due to switching phones. Did say HIGH MILES in notes. This did not deter me.)
So, since I did use the last of my HPL product on it, since I can confirm this car used at least 1.5 quarts of oil in ~1500 miles when I delivered ~600lbs product to a B I T O G er in South Carolina on maiden voyage.. well, I decided to again start the cleaning regimen. If it was due to (Oil control) rings. (The PCV was also given an attempt at cleaning with various pene lubes and WD40 as well. To avoid the possible debacle of reassembly .)
Therefore,, we have MMO, some Seafoam, and various motor oils as well as same MMO and Seafoam being used in induction cleaning, only did a full oil change recently so dark, gas-smelling oil seems to have done a lot of cleaning, the half quart EC got burned off somewhere along the way in what appears to be an oil burner of an engine... somewhat. Rate may have slowed, I'm doing my best to monitor.
Blue MP filter next mailed to
@53' Stude (was asking what a 53 Foot Stude is. Studebaker? Beyond that.. I got nothin) will hopefully have some HPL Engine Cleaner introduced on the tail end. Filters are easier for me to change than oil... Unrelated, but also possible due to fuel and possible fuel dilution: Car sets P0420 and upstream H02S may be sitting at 4 volts. that's too high....
I also drive my car like it is a Ferrari on long stretches of wide open highway "sometimes" so there's that. As to load, attempts to keep things clean, car sets P0420 and has inspection soon so... it's both my Ferrari and my Rolls Royce since I installed the leather seats. still the only car that sounds broken when it is cold and wow do I hate that. Might sell it next year, it bothers me that much if it doesn't stop . If I do, a B I T O G er can have it for.. let's call it $2000. Everything is NEW on it so that's a steal (no seriously like 80% of the car is either new rebuilt or perfect new fluid. You name it it has been done. Passing inspection December too. But we won't visit that topic just yet. This is all about the engine the filter came off of.)
So now you probably see why I changed the filter so. Much. Because filters are cheap and engines are not. Oil is also plentiful and varied.............................
