Super Tech 5W30 Synthetic With GDI Engine ?

Although it was SN rated - the last specs I saw at PQIA showed Super Tech 5W30 Synthetic oil had a high NOACK of over 11... For a GDI engine would you consider that NOACK rating being an issue ? Conversely , not sure if the NOACK dropped any on Super Tech's newer D1 / Gen 2 SN+ formulation of their 5W30 Synthetic.?

Annually. I did two Mobil 1 and Pennzoil rebates last Spring. Still have yet to use it. I'm getting ready to do the current Pennzoil rebate this weekend.
 
MAG 1 synth 5W30 from Warren shares a d1G2 license # with ST synth 5W30 and that is shown at 12% Noack loss on the Warren website.
I would guess that the ST's Noack loss is very similar.

I don't see that level of loss as a big problem, but I think lower is definitely better.
When M1 5W30 is cheaper than ST at WM with a rebate factored in and has a 10% Noack loss...well, that's a no brainer for me.
 
I have a glove box full of $10 VWB oil change coupons-- got two yesterday. Planning on changing with 5-30 every 5000 miles.

Paid $37 at Walmart for a ST 5-30 oil change to get me 6000 miles to the 65000 mark. M1 would have been an extra ten, and to me it wasn't worth it. I had a 1.6 Rio which I had no problems with until giving it to my daughter.

Lower NOACK is better but WPP is apparently selling lots of oil, witness Amazon Basic's position on the Amazon best seller chart. I suspect that Warren is cranking out all sorts of product, and people are getting along well with it. It is amazing, however, that ten years ago, I was confident that any car I'd buy would fall apart around a perfectly good engine, I suspect this is still the case. I've had about forty cars and only two of them have had cooked engines, and one of those was a Corvair, but all of this GDI + turbo talk has me nervous in my old age.

I'm ancient and live in a condo that doesn't allow work on cars. If I wasn't/didn't I'd probably buy Walmart or Harvest King group 3 and be done with it. Other than Menards it seems like I always have trouble with coupon redemptions, but those of you who do redeem are undoubtedly getting better oil for the same price. There's tons of people out there happily using WPP and other lower end oils, however. Almost none of them even know what NOACK is and if they do halfway decent OCI's they're probably going to be happy.

VISCOSITY @ 100 C is 10.81
I got the specs from Warren Distribution a couple of days back but, I am having a problem copying it from ICloud.
I wouldn't be scared to use it in the KIA 2.4. I won't use it in my Escape 2.0T.

14% Noack loss would fail d1G2 (13% max)...that number isn't for the conventional SuperTech?
 
The header didn't state if it is conventional or synthetic. I'll get back with them for clarification.

Can I ask you what is the problem you're trying to solve by using ST - get a lower Noack or save some money?
I guess for lower Noack it's valvoline and magnatec, which both are around $22 vs $17 for ST, you probably can't solve both problem with one shot

This looks to be a very nice oil. I would not hesitate to use it in either of my vehicles.

Every item I checked was exactly the same as MAG 1 5W30 synthetic as shown on the Warren website....I think it's very safe to say they are the SAME oil.
And they are very solid looking by the numbers, yes. I think that CCS result is very good for a budget oil, well under the maximum viscosity allowed at -30C.
The only caveat is that I can get M1 (for example) even cheaper with a rebate, as mentioned above...and it beats the ST oil by a bit on specs that are of interest to me.

It's just a good oil at a good price. Nothing more nothing less.
