When I was in there was a bunch of junk in the parking lot. You had to go to HQ or Ops to see anything decent.

Mexicans like nissan vehicles.its common to see a ford truck with its ford badges removed and a nissan window sticker on the front windshield.
When I was an enlisted guy back in the late 70's to early 80s I had a nice truck too. I wish I hadn't done it and got something decent only cheaper. Live and learn. From then on I had cheaper base models or used cars because it's not fun having no play money.

Yep, In HS we had one kid with a Camaro who had it all done up...but refused to open the hood ever...had a V6.
I never understood why someone would spend all the money making a slow car look fast...when they could have just bought the faster version...its not like V8 Camaro's in the 90's were rare or any more than the 6 pots.
Same with the Foxbody's...
Than you get the fake M cars and AMG's...no a body kit and wheels does not an AMG make.
I prefer the total opposite....I'd buy an E63 AMG and either take the badges off or put on E350 4matic badges. Those who really know will know, those who don't who cares. Same with an M3, 328I badging would be going right on.

I hope that was you been sarcastic. When I was an E6 making sea pay and Sub pay with no kids and a wife with her masters degree, we were rolling in the cash. Plus LARGE reenlistment bonuses for those of use who served on Submarines.

A friend of mine replaced the ///M3 badge on his heavily modified E36 with a German 316td emblem. Most Bimwads knew what was up but it was a hoot to hear clueless bystanders talk about how they now wanted a 316 since it was so cool and fast. European Car even printed a letter from one poor fool who asked where he could get a 316, since he had seen one set FTD at a local autocross...

Although I am glad it helped GM/Chevy sell some cars, I NEVER liked the looks of the 'Transformer' 5th gens.

If you drove one of those around the base I'd bet they'd make a note in your file and you'd never go up in rank without some kind of maturity review.

I saw a V6 Firebird 2000+ model with a "Chevrolet" plus Bow tie decal running across the top of the windshield (one of those upper windshield tint graphic thingies). Does the owner not realize it's a Pontiac?? Haha!!

Yes, ink used to be a badge of individuality, and being different, but it is SO prevalent/standard with today's youth as to almost be requisite.
