Subdivisions are wonderful.

You should be happy your neighbor takes care of his lawn. I would way rather hear a weed trimmer at 7am than a gd,&*%^*&$&^ stereo at anytime of the day.

I call audible "bass" an "approaching fool" alert.

Have an RC plane derby in your yard each weekend until they get the message :^)

I had a neighbor, good guy and all, that could not do anything in the yard unless it was motorized.

7:15 is not early. If there is light it is not indecent.

Actually, it is the best time of day to get it over with.

Meanwhile go get some breakfest grumpy.

The maintenance man at the church across the street from us does it EVERY Sunday at about that time. Uses the blower to get rid of anything that accumulated since the lawn crew came earlier in the week.

I may take to mowing MY lawn during their services.

I know how you feel ToyotanSaturn. My neighbor has a bunch of Triumph spitfires or some craappy little british sports cars that are loud as **** and he ALWAYS is revving the heck out of them on weekend mornings.

I was thinking of taking my snare drum outside at the crack of dawn and practice some rudiments. LOL Geez, I play LOUD drums in my garage (there simply is no way other than LOUD when playing the entire Vapor Trails album from Rush!

), but NEVER before 10am and NEVER after 9pm. It's called courtesy, right??

My one neighbor has a loud (I mean LOUD) Harley that I barely hear at 6am when he leaves for work. He gently gives it gas until he's far away from the subdivision.

That's the defintion of a thoughtful neighbor.

Naw, nothing beats the initial, unmuffled start-up of BB V8 "to break it in" around dawn . . after all, gotta git it back in the pickemup to git to work tomorrow morning.

Garage with concrete floor, metal door overhead is best.

Second best is a MolaSoak: fire that puppy up after soaking 3-ozs LC in each cylinder overnight. Do not wait for the morning breeze.

And, last (but not just in passing) a leaf blower with NO MUFFLER is keen. Keening, like a banshee. Work a long time between buildings to get the effect at it's best.

How about an all night saltwater fishing trip and using your driveway and home water hose to flush your 150hp outboard(loud out of water!!) at 0600 sunday morning!! Used to do that often when I lived in salt. I would be so tired I would sleep till noon and the lawn mowers and weed wackers from neighbors homes did not even disturb me.

If I get new neighbors and they carry in a drum kit I will buy a new house and rent my current 3br house to several families of illegal immigrants.

People are a-holes. My neighbours need to mow their lawn about 100 times a year. Often, they hop on the rider just as the wife gets home. It seems some people are not happy unless they have some motorized device cranking away. Their wood home is about 15 ft from the road, when I finally get the urge, I'll be doing burn-outs on my (soon-to-own) Ninja at 3am. When/if we sell, that will be their worst nighmare, as I'll drive past in an old pick-up with three 55G drums chained behind it. Paybacks are a *****.

"You should be happy your neighbor takes care of his lawn."

I agree. While I know it may be worrisome at times, I will never discourage my neighbor from taking care of his/her her/his lawn.

My rule for mowing is not to do any till after 12 Noon. I like to keep my neighbors happy. Plus, I know there are the late sleepers who work crazy shifts.

PS these neighbours were the people who refused to moderate their 9 mini schnausers from barking at us 3-4-5+ times a day, every day...even when we simply by a window. A zoning complaint about their kennel activities took care of that, after 5 years of **.

Rob, By 12 noon we are approaching the century mark in temperature and it is above 90 well after sundown. The early morning is the only Safe time to mow since the temperature then is only in the mid to upper 80's.

some folks get more done by 8 am then others get done all day! (old national guard slogan)

7:15am is not early. I'll trade you my neighbors, they have two cars parked in their front yard and the lawn mower is in the garage. mowing for them is every 6 months.

in my area the noise ordinance is 7am - 9pm you can be as loud as you want. I think that's fair.

I don't start my mower until 9AM...I think the rednecks next door sleep late and I don't want him to pay me back with his 74 Camaro since I dont think it has any mufflers on it.
