Suggestion for tires

Advice on a tire for my 2011 Camry LE. Hot summer & rain, long trip on highways:
  1. Falken ZE960
  2. Defender 2
  3. Nokain WRG5
Let me know. I have Sentury Touring all-season (ideal for commute).

I have Defender 2 on my 2023 Blazer. 7k miles so far. No regrets very happy with them. Oil change and tire rotation at 5k miles. I got 49k with the factory Michelin tires hoping the same or better with the Defenders. Tire size is 235/55/20.

If they make them in your size, you might consider the Cooper Evolution Plus-I put them on the Vue I bought (215/70R16), they ride really well, are halfway not horrible in snow, and seem to be wearing pretty well so far. Sam’s Club often has a pretty good price too, they were~$115 each when I bought them.

Yeah is snow a factor? If so, do you have snow tires?

I’ve been very happy with the Goodyear reliant tires I got on special Black Friday sale, and even the store brand USA made Douglas tires that I got there.

On other vehicles I have coopers that I’m happy with.

Can’t go wrong with the defenders, for sure.

If it’s just a sofa-like run of the mill Camry I’d probably be looking for quality over anything else. Though I wonder if a higher speed rated/firmer tire would provide some benefit?

What size…215-60-16?
What is your budget?
Are you looking for ride comfort or handling?
There are several other tires that I’d choose over your 3 choice for a Camry & highway travel.
Also, what type of longevity are you looking to get; approximately how many miles would you be hoping for with the tires you buy? How long will you be keeping this Camry?
I’ve checked TireRack in the size that I suspect you have and there are several very good tires below $150/tire that I’d choose. Some even below $130/tire.

@omegflarex - we really need more details on your location, if snow/winter is a factor, if you have separate winter tires, confirm size, and price point. Where do you plan to buy (Costco, Sam's, Discount Tire, local independent). What are priorities? Longer life, noise, wet grip, dry grip?

Costco does free install and 5 year road hazard/flats/rotation. Sam's has discounted install with PLUS membership and road hazard (but not in NY) flats/rotations etc.

What do you like or don't like about your current tires that you are looking to keep/change/improve?

I prefer an asymmetrical pattern that I can cross rotate for my tires so I can help keep even wear if any alignment issues caused concerns. Directional tires only go front to back. The videos above may give you insight into things to look at or consider. If you like what you have for a price point they may be a good choice as is. Walmart also has multiple options that have been recommended here.

Continental has some very good choices that many here recommend for wet grip as well as noise and handling. They have a new Secure Contact AW (all weather) that you can cross rotate unlike Michelin CrossClimate 2 and other all weather. TrueContact Tour 54 maybe a good choice, Pirelli AS3 also. Budget price range, sales and rebates etc all play. If you open a Continental Credit card they are doing $200 back as a rebate card until the end of June.

Nokian One would probably be a closer match to the Defender 2 vs WRG5 but again is all weather a need or want?

I refuse to buy Michelin but others like them (I've never had good luck). Was a big fan of General RT43's back in the day and had several sets on our '11 Camry; the RT45's might be same quality but IIRC the price advantage is no longer there. Our '21 Camry is using Continental Contact Plus I think and it has been ok, although as tread drops to 4/32's or so the wife is indicating that wet traction is falling off. Will try to push for a full 40k on the tires and replace with the same.

For us we just toss on real snow tires for winter. So far all the "do all" options just seem to pale in comparison. YMMV but if you have space for an extra set of wheels and have to contend with winter, then that is what I'd do.

Edit: the RT43's were "ok" for light snow when new. Nothing great of course but decently good as compared to other all seasons we had over the years. So they do have that going for them--I had toyed with just getting new ones every fall but the timing never worked out for me.
