Suggest ATF for Ranger 4.0L V-6

Hi there, I tow a 3000 lb-plus trailer. About 60,000 kms on the odometer. The transmission fluid gets up to 200F on hills.

Is this getting too hot?

Is there a better atf fluid than the stock Ford mercon V original atf fluid?

I'm probably going to install a larger cooler.

i use m1 mercon v in my f150, im well pleased and tow a good sized boat regularly

Use any of the full synthetic ATFs that meets the spec you require.

And, it is getting TOO hot. Get a transmission cooler in there.
If there is an OE ATF cooler, exchange it for a bigger one.
If there is an aftermarket deep pan, get that too.
