Subaru OEM Coolant System Conditioner

Subaru sells this conditioner. When do they think it's needed vs just normal changing of the coolant on recommend schedule.

It is rebranded product to seal up head gasket issues they used to have IIRC.

nasioc is the resource you need.

I had a coolant flush done at the dealer on my 13' wrx they automatically put that in.

Do new Subaru vehicles still need/require this product? My impression from reading here is it's sort of a 'preventative type' product for potential head gasket issues. I remember when I joined, Bill in Utah posting about it. My understanding is it's basically like Bars Leak tabs?

Thinking simple gifts recommendation of 'nasioc' resource a good one.

Use that stuff only on the older EJ motors, even the new WRX STI.

The newer FA/FB and the H6 motors don't need it - it wouldn't hurt on the older 3.0L H6s though.

I should be picking up my 17 forester i ordered about 2.5 months ago tomorrow. My research says these don't have he HG issues anymore. Right?

Really? Because the Maintenance Manual for my '13 Outback FB25 specifically states to add a bottle when doing a coolant flush and fill.
