Subaru ATF-HP by Beck/Arnley

I'm due for a transmission drain/fill. 2010 Subaru Outback 3.6R. The manual is pretty specific about ATF-HP and I have been under the impression that it was an OEM-only. I searched around a bit and all of a sudden Beck/Arnley is advertising an "OE" ATF-HP. Amazon Link
And the B/A interchange guide shows the same result. It's not much cheaper than OEM and saving money is not my issue. It's a matter of access to OEM fluid. So, is this for real? Is B/A the actual OEM producer?

Beck/Arnley is a repackager, its probably just OEM fluid with their name on it.

Upon further reflection it's liekly that idemitsu is the OEM producer. Is B/A legit? DO they repackage any other OEM fluids?

Beck Arnley has long been known as an importer of original equipment replacement parts....meaning they buy from the same suppliers as the OEM manufacturers.They just dont call up some cheapo outfit and slap a sticker on it,they will source from Denso,GKN,Bosch....whoever and then label it as their own.Normally very good stuff.

It's the "OE" that has me wondering. I suppose they're just admitting that they don't "manufacture" it?

Exactly. They manufacture nothing but offer parts and fluids made by the OEM supplier of the fluid or part that has the identical specs.
I bought Subaru parts from them and got parts with the same part numbers and make, e.g. OEM water pump is aisin part#xxxx
and the B/A is stamped aisin with the same part#xxxx

They are not some fly by night, you can buy from them with confidence and usually save a few bucks in the bargain.

Absolutely. And they do actually list specifications they meet, referencing OEM standards and the relevant numbers. I don't know if I agree with their philosophy that Pentosin can be used in my G's power steering pump, nor do I want to use $30 per litre fluid anyhow, but that's another story.
