Stupid question about oil

So the Caprice has an 8 quart sump.
I have 7 quarts of Mobil 1 5W-30.
I don't want to open the other 5 quart container I have that is for the Malibu...
Who among the fine folks at BITOG would throw a quart of Castrol 10W-30 conventional in there?

I think I am going to do it.

I blend different brands and weights sometimes. Been doing it since the 1990s.
I''d guess to say the Caprice will like your Frankenbrew and the engine may even run a smidge quieter / smoother.

I've mixed every combination you can think of . More than once . At the end of the day , just make sure you have the required number of qts and move on .

I was trying to spice it up a little. It has been quiet around here lately. I won't tell you what is in the WS6 right now. Ok I will. 2 quarts of Mobil 1 10W-30, 2 quarts of Castrol Edge 10W-30 and 2 Quarts of Quaker State conventional 10W-30. The Quaker state was left over from the kids old 97 Silverado. That combination was what I had laying around after I changed out the stuck open injector.
