Stuck Sunroof, 01 F150

Need any input at all. I've tried the Ford forums, but no one is responding. Got a 01 F150 Supercrew. Dang sunroof got stuck in the full open positions right smack in the middle of a tornado and a rainstorm consisting of cats and dogs. If any of you were watching the weather Saturday night, it was that storm that dropped about 8 tornadoes that night SE of OKC. No fun. Truck is absolutely soaked. Finally got it home in the garage.
Pulled the switches out and checked all the circuits. All are good. No blown fuse. When you push the "auto" button, you can hear the motor engaging, but when you push the button to close it, nothing. Not a peep. God, I got a feeling this is going to cost me. Is there anyway I could hotwire it to just to have it closed?

My honda has a place where I can insert a tool and crank the sunroof closed manualy. I would check your owners manual to see if they have something similar. Does it try to move when you push the button to close it? Can you give it a gentle nudge while holding the button down to close it?

Believe me, I've tried everything. Thing ain't nudging nothing. This sunroof is about the only one in the world that doesn't have a manual backup, that much I've learned.

Sorry I don't have a solution to offer, but when you engage the motor with the auto button, can you manually "help" slide it forward with your hand?

This amy at least get the darned thing closed...?

The auto button just opens it up all the way, the other button is what closes it. You can still hear the motor whirrling when you hit the auto button, but nothing the other way around. Funny, I was first worried about the 5.4 engine blowing spark plugs, never expected this. Starting to shake my confidence in Ford.

It might not be fully open (stuck on something in the track) and therefore may not engage the "close" button. Had this happen on a Honda. Just a thought.

i dont know anything about this problem but i just might comment anyway. i used to have a power sliding rear window. it was essentially a power antenna connected to the window. power antenna seems to have a notched nylon strip that they crank in and out. if that nylon strip breaks the motor runs but you dont get any movement. mostly this is so you can mount the motor someplace convenient (like instead of behind the headliner).
