Stuck differential drain bolt

Shall I post the receipt? 😂

It was a Christian Brothers Automotive about five minutes from my house. My first experience with them and it was great. Clean organized shop and I really enjoyed chatting with the tech. I’d certainly go back.
Did they try and convert you? Kidding...

Now is the time to start your collection of cheater bars.
I have one, but I’d have never been able to use the one he did without a lift. Even with my car on ramps it wasn’t enough clearance for that length bar.

Taking it to the dealer who did the last service is a good option.
I would use a long 1/2" breaker bar with the 3/8" adapter and use my body weight to break torque.
Good luck.
I know you've gotten this fixed. My solution: take the last service receipt with you and tell them to remove the drain bolt, and you'll pay for a new bolt but not the labor. If they balk, tell them you'll gladly report the issue to Subaru of America. It's their cost to bear for a poor prior service. No doubt the mechanic (e-r-r-r $15 an hour tech) used an impact wrench.
