Vehicle is a 2007 RAV4 4 cylinder.
I decided to change the oil filter ONLY at 144,736. The filter mileage is 2710. I was using Valvoline Restore and Protect 5w-30, first interval.

There were a lot of grit in the can. The media didn’t appear to capture much or anything large, but I can tell you the surface is sandy like sandpaper.

I like this style of bypass, but the opening is about 1/4”. The size of the hole I don’t like. The ADBV is hard, I would like it to be more pliable.

A decent cheap filter. I would expect the XL version would be better.

Cleaning is happening. Nice pics. What went in and on? Guessing more Valvoline Restore and Protect

Agreed that cleaning is happening. I updated my post, I only changed the filter. No oil was changed. I replaced it with a WIX 57145.

There’s an oil filter exchange event happening nearby, and all’s I needs to do is give them an old to get a new.

Yes I recall seeing that. My brain must be dead. Busy day at work, new terminal opened

You'd be surprised on how much it will still flow. A bypass valve isn't really designed to flow the full output of the oil pump. It's designed to only flow enough to keep the dP across the media at near the bypass setting. If the filter was nearly totally clogged, snd the engine RPM really high, it might keep up, but don't let the filter get too clogged up. In normal use conditions it shouldn't be an issue.

To my eye, looks decent for a lower tier filter. And I'll take the topic China made version with the endcap integral bypass over the Champ Labs made STP. No worries about seal area bypass. And fwiw agreeing with Zee on bypass. Think the bypass would and did perform just fine.

Thanks for c&p.

Looks like a great jobber filter. Honestly better QC than some top name brands we’ve seen recently.

As I’m getting these prepd for proper disposal, I just remember to get these two additional pictures with info that I seem to always forget. Top of can date code and country of origin. Made in China.
