Interesting to note that this PG filter has a different base than the PG filter that carquest shows for this application:

Will note that the filter media tears much easier *by hand* than the FRAM synthetic endurance filter I pulled off my 08 Silverado. Leaf spring on that filter was rippled of course. Suppose that’s the difference between a 10k filter and a 25k filter and a fully synthetic material vs synthetic blend?

I'm running this same filter right now,my 98 Buick LeSabre.bought it local AutoZone. Installed it myself March 30. Have about 2100 miles on it now.was hoping 3000 miles end September, but it's likely end November. I'll take pics when I remove n cut it open.
Years ago, their was a silver? Sto synthetic filter...good for 15,000 miles highway driving of course ..but long discontinued now wish it was still around wanted try it.
Also...in pics, top filter pic.its not USA made.the deep red anti drain back valve is china made..I can tell .

The Fram Endurance has wire backed media, so if you can tear that by hand I'd be amazed. ;)

They copied the Mann filter for that application. The OE is made in Austria and not like the Mann so they copied the wrong one.
They started putting p type gaskets and long oval base holes like a Toyota filter, same as Toyota Denso makes them. Not a bad idea. Pretty versatile manufacturing plant to make such changes, and they seem to copy very well.
I don’t know if CAFI in China makes them for Autozone, or someone else in China.
