STP or Syntec; Which would you run ??

Which of these two motor oils would you run?
Please just answer with one of the two brands specified.
A.) STP from Autozone
B.) Syntec from O’Riellys


Please answer just A or B.
No “Well I would run Pennzoil or Amsoil or Mobil1.

Sorry, couldn't resist. In all seriousness, it doesn't matter between those two choices IMHO. Go with whichever hits your wallet less or comes out cheaper with a filter deal (Premium Guard for the win.)

As you tell the banter and odd ball criteria, the choice is basically irrelevant due to each being equal essentially.

I was only asking about those two because they are easily available at either store. Don’t know much about the STP oil. Don’t like the STP garbage blue oil filters. Used one once cost me $100 tow job. I had drained oil out, taking garbage blue filter off and it literally crushed from just hand pressure.
Normally I run Castrol in vehicles.
Just a curious thread to invoke thoughts.
Knew that people would put in there 2 cents about Amsoil or whatever brand they like.

You've said nothing about the application or use, so I'll assume there's nothing odd or outlandish about your situation ...

Both are API licensed lubes.

It is HIGHLY unlikely to make any difference to your engine, so let your wallet be the guide; buy whichever is cheaper.

I would order to run the STP since it’s made by Amalie but that’s just personal preference. Omni makes the Oreilly oil but they’re both decent oils.

A standard oil change for normal everyday driving in stop n go traffic.
My preferred oil is Castrol 5W-30 and a Wix oil filter.

Why are you moving away from Castrol and Wix though? That might help with deciding.
