Champion Labs.. good filter for the price.
The 2010 edge uses the 3.5L duratec doesn't it? There should be plenty of filters out there for that engine, it's been around a few years.
I buy STP's when I purchase my OCI materials at AutoZone. I would bet the media is different than an ST, but I don't make em.
My past experience is that they had the same amount of media as an ST. I never attempted to evaluate the quality.
e-Core?
I don't have a large collection of filter's that I've cut open, but:
All the e-core's I've cut were fine.. the only filter that was not is a Motorcraft FL-400S that failed at the media's glued seam.

I can get STP's cheap.. someone let me know.
I personally would not use them, alot of people do and have good results. I think there are alot better filters out there for the same or less money. Id probably use a Fram over one.
Both river Rat and I cut open and compared an STP 3950 and a Purolator L 10193. Neither one of us saw much difference and his flow and filter testing gave very similar results. With all the hype here on Purolator, you can get a very similar filter made in American by an American company for the same price, or in your case, maybe less. If I could get an STP cheap, I wouldn't hesitate a second to use it.
I am running a Pronto on my truck now, but it may be the last of the American made ones. I picked up a NAPA Gold On sale, but may go back to STP.

brenspeed has them for a cheap price for mustangs.
Of course it does...they want to sell you more filters.
2010 Edge uses the Motorcraft FL-500s. Some dealers sell it far cheaper than others, best to shop around. I wouldn't use the STP until the warranty is up just in case. Can't find a vehicle that's easier to change the oil on than that one.
57502 is the Wix cross to the Motorcraft FL-500s.
Whatever you do, don't forget to remove the oil filler cap when draining the oil. You'll get at least a quart above the filter otherwise. I had a MASSIVE mess one time...never make that mistake again.
