STP Gas Treatment

This stuff is everywhere and is so cheap to buy. I can get a package of three smaller bottles for 2.99 in Autozone. I've used it every so often.

It says to use it every fill up, but that can't be good for your car.

What say ye?

AFAIK, it's kerosene and not much else. I think you're supposed to use it 'at every oil change', ie. every 3k miles.

It has its uses. For instance, to dilute that TCW3 when you add it to the tank.

I think there are better cleaners out there then STP. Redline SI1 comes to mind.

I think its harmless. Probably better to use something that is know to work. E.g Chevron Techron. I just finished a bottle of the lucas "deep clean" fuel system cleaner ($10/bottle at Autozone) and it seemed to work well.
