The first I did with NAPA, when I got the results back I thought it read a little bit low much lower than it should plus it had other trace metals that should not be in there. I also pour it strait from the bottle so over the years this stuff could have settled out.
The second I poured most of the bottle into another container and shook the bottle up so it was well mixed then sent it off to Blackstone last week. Still much lower than I was suspecting but my curiosity has been settled. It will give a small bump in ZDDP to lower SN API rated oil and thicken it up a bit. Besides in my Diesel I will be using my ZDDDPMaxx.
I would like to know why labs that are supposed to have calibrated equipment and standardized testing get such different results, If this was blood work you would be screwed with such a difference.
Still only adds 96ppm Zn when it boils down to it.
So if my math is right 5 quarts oil add up to this.
STP is 15oZ / 176OZ TOTAL SUMP VOLUME 11.7:1 dilution ratio for STP
SM OIL is 160oz/ 176oz TOTAL SUMP VOLUME = 1.1:1 dilution ratio for Oil
STP is Zn 1092ppm @ 11.7:1 dilution = 96 ppm
SM OIL Zn 1000ppm @ 1:1:1 dilution = 909 ppm
96 + 909 = 1005 ppm Zn in your oil I would not feel bad using it in SN oil even if it's a little bump as cheap as it is especially if you have a Biglots awards card it's 20% off all the time so it's only 2 bucks.
This is the Blue newer bottle from a thread from the forum to compare, It's dang near the same as the 2004 formulation.
