I would *never* invest in a MINING STOCK????!!!!!!

Mining stocks are places where rich people invest to loose money. Gold,Coal, etc LOTS of speculation that simply is not true, and constantly attacked by organizations like Green Peace and Sierra Club.
That's been my impression, but recently their volatility makes them a good gamble if you're willing to play.

Many stocks are trading vehicles.

in March I invested in FCX up 150% mining, KGC Kinross Gold up 125%, Wells Fargo up 20%, Boeing sold at 60% profit, Wendy's up 400% getting ready to sell, there are others.

I look to make 20%-100% on every trade and get extra money buying calls or selling calls especially on stocks I own.

Wow, very nice. 💰 🤑 💰

My portfolio is up ‘only’ 55%....

I also sold Boeing for a nice profit.... unfortunately they have very rough times ahead and problem after problem.

I appreciate all the advice but I did not want investing advice.
Just an opinion on this particular stock.
Go to the library and look it up in the ValueLine investment survey. Most libraries carry this subscription. They have taken the time to rate each stock. No one here has the time nor expertise (except maybe that investment advisor) to tell you. That is the only way other than digging into the balance sheet on your own to know.

At some point soon I'll sell all my stocks but gold stocks and the GLD and only trade options for a few months until the elections.

As of Friday my investment has gone
5 year up 380.6 %
1 year up 101.25 %
3 months up 182.46 %
1 month up 11.03 %
My total investment in NAK is up 380.6 %
I am in at an average of $1.07 and it traded at $1.61 Friday.
But it go's up and down like a roller coaster.
The 52 week high was $2.49.
I'm in this long to the bitter end.
Either it stays a wilderness or gets developed into the world richest known copper, gold ,silver mine the world.

This isn’t investing...

This is gambling and having fun.

How much, total, in dollars, have you put into this stock? What percentage of your portfolio?

Some say people say this is speculation and gambling, similar to all the folks with new Robin Hood account holders buying high risk stocks.

Yes, the markets are crazy right now with lots of folks making easy money with all the good news on cable news.

I try to have a diversified portfolio but only in areas of opportunity. If I don't see value or growth, I look elsewhere. I have short term positions, medium, and long term. If I'm going to hold it for awhile, I write covered calls for income. If I like a stock but not at the current price, I'll sell puts. If I see a short term opportunity of unusual call buying, less than 90 days, and preferably 30-60 days, I'll ride along.

I don't have a lot in NAK.
As of Friday it's worth $2875.
My investment is $1905.
I'm up $970.
It's all the stock I have.
To me it's like going to Blackhawk and playing the slot machines.
Just a little high risk play money.
I like gambling.
And yes I trade on Robinhood.
But again the question is not how I invest but the stock itself.
I dont have time for long term investments.
This is a shot at making some quick cash.
Roll the dice.
Flip the cards.

Then we agree - you're gambling.

And if you don't have time, or a plan, for long-term investments, you will not ever experience real investment/portfolio return.

I began my investment journey nearly 30 years ago. Made a few big mistakes. Made a lot of good decisions. Kept at it.

I think you're mistaken. The question most certainly, IS how you invest and NOT the stock itself. I could lose 10 times what you've gained on this stock and not bat an eye. I might not even notice because it would be noise in the daily up/down of the market.

Yep. It is short term gratification vs long term investment.
I never think in short term; at best short term gains are chump change as compared to your 30 years of investing.
Of course the past 10 years have been pretty extraordinary.

"And if you don't have time, or a plan, for long-term investments, you will not ever experience real investment/portfolio return."

Well said.

I know I'm gambling and I like it.
How about more opinions on NAK and less on how to invest.
Buy more?
Hold?
Sell? (yuk)

Heck, going to work is a gamble. Will i get shanked? Will some methhead shoot the place up? Will I catch some pathogen that will ruin my life and kill me? Dude...I like this gamble from the safety of my home on the stocks, rofl!

Ws6,

How much would your account need to be to leave this terrible job you are always talking about ?

Try to be realistic with that dollar amount.....

NAK looks pretty risky, but could play out nicely with inflation driving metals up, i'd personally pass on it. My personal strategy is to stick to moderate risk stocks that are backed up by solid assets like REITs and petroleum MLPs. Their sole mission is to make money and hand it out to shareholders as a passthrough entity. I also trade in and out between dividends to make gains on top of yields but i don't recommend it to those who don't have a lot of free time at work to watch them. Some of my bets include Simon Property group and Macerich, they operate a bunch of shopping malls and are quite undervalued due to current "challenges" in face to face retail. I think those challenges are temporary and these companies will go up a lot while paying out something each quarter while i wait.

I also buy the lessor known petroleum stocks like Holly Frontier and its HEP MLP subsidiary. They make good money without being too popular/overpriced like a chevron exxon type nameplate. A well ran pipeline MLP just pumps money around 24/7 at low overheads and they get paid to move the product by its volume not by any barrel price.

Don't gamble in the stock market with any money you can't afford to lose or have locked up for a long time if your shares drop in value. I personally believe that every stock has a significant risk, even things like Apple.

I think the best advice for anyone trading or investing in the stock market is to avoid taking stock related information/recommendations on message boards like this.
