I think it has been around 5 weeks. Again. Not eating anything after 6 PMN and nothing before 9 A.M. I will be really anxious to see if it reduces my A1C. Reducing Carbs dropped it from 5.7 to 5.3. It may do nothing. But I will continue doing it bc I think it is a good thing.

Lots of good medical data out now on nicotinamide riboside.

I did the same years ago and made it a lifestyle because it takes literally no effort.. I did mostly carnivore but found out quickly you need some carbs as my legs really ached and introducing some carbs back into the plan took away my leg pain which is well known symptom of quitting the carbs.
Good luck 👍

I never eat before 4pm every day.
Weekdays I allow a 2 or 3 hour time period to eat and then no more food until the following day at 4pm.
Three of those weekdays is a nice big green salad and tomato with walnuts and sometimes chopped cheese or turkey loin which since I started this "quest" Nov 2025 I REALLY have come to enjoy this type of eating. Along with Orgain Protein drink with the salad.

Saturday is out to dinner night with my wife and will eat any reasonably healthy meal, Sunday home cooked reasonably healthy meal as well as two weekdays. All days of the week I do not eat anything until dinner time, roughly a 2 hour period most days.

In Jan my A1c went from 5.6 to 5.3. 5.3 is perfectly acceptable but it would be cool to see 5.0 and I think, since I no longer eat refined wheat products it will get there. I did a two hour glucose tolerance test and it clearly indicated I was smack in the middle stats as pre diabetic even though my A1c was ok.

DOWN 30LBS so far, sort of plateaued a bit on the next leg now for another 25 lbs.
Past history, my weight was always good until 2025 when it went off the charts during a medical treatment. Now getting my life back together. TO jump start things further in Jan, I was doing 48 hour water fasts only, no food for 48 hours, only water. Now the above food plan is in its place.

Great job @Al Glad to "see" you are enjoying this as much as I and some others in here. It's an amazing feeling.

If you're healthy enough I'd recommend you try a 3 day water/coffee/tea only fast. I try to do it once a month. After the first 2 times it becomes much easier and the benefits are worth looking into.

In the 5 week period have you dropped weight or stayed the same.

I’ve being doing one form or another of fasting for the last 10years. Everything from 18:6 to 72hr fasts and everything in between.

I find OMAD (One Meal A Day) to be the easiest for some reason so I’ve done that the most but lately I’ve seen research indicating it’s better to “shock” your system by changing things up so I might do OMAD for a few days, then 18:6 for a couple days, the a 48hr, etc.

99% of the time it’s Carnivore/Keto, basically carnivore but I try to eat a salad every day.

I’m down 80lbs from my highest point. I’ve done most of the diets out there but oddly enough just not eating is the easiest to maintain and if your only doing OMAD and eating good whole foods it’s hard to not lose weight as you get full quickly and stay full until bedtime. I do still get hungry around 8-9am most days but it passes and then I’m good for the rest of day.

It's funny how periods between eating are called "fast"-s nowadays. But I remember the times about 15 years ago when we were recommended to eat continuously throughout the day so that we are not hungry.

On weekdays, I only eat between the hours of 3PM and 7PM, sometimes 8PM the latest. Espresso, tea and water are what keep me going during my fasts.
I’m about the same weekdays. Within that area may be closer to 4 to 7 PM. Three of those 4 to 7 weekdays just a protein drink and a green salad because I’m looking to lose more weight.

Weekends go out to dinner and less rigid, but I don’t eat before 4 PM though watching a movie I might snack a little too much sometimes at night weekends

I think we're related to @Pablo, somewhere down the line. :)

I thought the forum rules banned AI posts.
Not anymore. Google used to knock us down a peg if we had AI content so it would hurt us for search engine optimization. But now Google is more forgiving. If AI content is posted that is complete nonsense we will delete it. But we are finding that there is some good content out there that people have found via AI so we don’t want to remove that

Weekdays for me I stop eating at 2pm and don’t start again until 8am. That will change once I’m doing my tours all day long though as I’ll leave my house by 6:30 am and I will usually eat after my second tour finishes around 2:15-2:30 pm.

On Saturdays I usually stop eating around 8pm and then start eating again around noon Sunday. Sunday night I usually stop eating around 7pm and start again at 7am Monday.

The best thing for me about fasting is that I don’t excessively snack. That used to be my big downfall
