Due to the fact that I am getting plenty dirty lately, I've been considering a cover for my steerling wheel. I've been told both good and bad things about what they can do to your steerling wheel.

I had one on my old S-10 for 3 years, and besides being sticky when I took it off, it still looked like new.

Is there a particular one I should look for? Or will any do?

The quick slip-on ones are good, and you can take them off at will. The neoprene style keeps the wheel cool-touch in Florida heat.Big lots is a good source, cheap.

I can't stand the slip on ones.
I get the ones that are laced.
The Sport 500 type at Walmart and K Mart last for years [much longer than we should expect], and give a superb feel. They are the first mod to any car I have owned in decades.
they are not leather, but a synthetic.
Get the right size - steering wheels are much thicker now than the skinny plastic from before.

Take your time lacing it up - stretch the plastic lace as you put it on. Make it even around the spokes .

Me either. I do the laced ones too. WAY more work....but worth it.

I don't know I'd call them "slip on" lol.....you gotta really "work them" around the wheel :) Wrapping, then twisting, and turning, etc...lol.

Laced? Never thought of those..

I have an ancient fabric/neoprene slip-on one in my Buick. My grandfather had it on there for years before I got the car, and I've kept it on. It works very well for cooling the wheel in summer heat, and from freezing my hands to the wheel in the winter. Initially I wanted it off, then felt the lack of heat the first hot day I drove the car.
