Honda OEM wheel bearing?

The internet is the Wild West. Only way to know for sure is to purchase from dealership parts dept.

I trust Rock Auto for things like spark plugs or OEM oil filters (if they carry them for your car). I avoid buying any mission critical parts and sensors from the internet if at all possible unless my vehicle is deep into beater territory.

For the vehicles in my house I just buy OEM everything for my cars from the dealership, or if having a mechanic do they job have them purchase parts from the local dealer. The hundred or so dollars in my experience you save for expensive or time consuming work just isn’t worth the risk.

Too many counterfeit stuff out there these days.
I partially agree with you, however 100-150% mark up the dealers are charging for the parts is tough to swallow for a 10yo vehicle. Same bearing at my local dealer is 250$.

oof, yeah the OEM one certainly isn't a $250 bearing either!
Try a local bearing shop, all the japanese/western bearing companies will make one that will work.

I agree it looks a bit sketchy, but on the other hand I never saw parts for my BMW from China... until I did.

For bearings and such I'd suggest a third part retailer as already suggested.

I've purchased plenty of parts from Hondapartsnow in the past. Latest was about a year or so ago. Never seen packaging like that ! Something changed, and I'm not liking it. I'm done with them. Look like knock offs to me. IMO, you got burned. If needed, I'll start using partszilla or bernardi from now on. Thanks for the heads up anyway -)

150%? Check this out, sale price too, this is a plastic emblem which measure 1.5" x 1/2" with double sided tape on the back. LOL

I’ve ordered an OEM wheel bearing for my Civic from one of the online Honda parts websites I used in the past, and that’s what I received. All in Chinese. Does this look OEM to yall? I’ve never seen Honda parts made in China. Additionally, bearing shipped in the envelope???

So, the wording on this bearing is Hubei Dongfeng Honda.

Basically it is that Joint Venture between China and Honda that made this. I would say you are likely getting China's Honda OEM part if they are not fake, and if they are fake would they rather fake a Chinese JV brand with Honda or a real US / Japan Honda brand. I don't have an answer to it but it is like asking would anyone fake a $20 USD bill instead of a $100, and whether the effort is worth it or not.

If you trust it and it won't take you too much effort / cost to swap the bearing, I'd say go ahead and try it. Yours is likely a grey market OEM that is just as good, or they may be slightly lower quality because the customers there aren't as picky.

So it is not a fake it is made by a major company that makes for Honda. That is kind of a different story, it is probably perfectly fine just grey market.

The Wiki link indicates Dongfeng severed their partnership with Honda last year.

"In August 2025, Dongfeng Motor Group announced the termination of its partnership with Honda, due to losses related to the production of combustion cars and the Chinese market's shift to electric vehicles."

I suspect the bearing is legit from the China market, but clearance old stock as sold by HondaPartsNow.

That would likely be the most obvious answer "if they are not fake". As always you have to trust your source and if they trust their sources, etc. I have bought from HondaPartsNow and I don't think they would intentionally buy fake stuff, but these days unless you buy from the dealer everything is going to be based on how far you trust your sources.

If it is a wheel bearing that only cost your 30 mins to press no big deal I guess, but if it is something that you have to rebuild the engine to get to, I would stop and think first.

Personally, I don't think your life is worth the risk on some bearing that may or may not be legitimate. Go to a bearing supplier if the local dealer is ripping you off big time.

Probably NOS from them. I see this a lot with VW/Audi stuff from Saic and FAW.

Final part of the order came in, PCV for the Pilot. Looks legit, made in Japan. I don’t think this platform sells counterfeit parts, but rather some are “grey” as others have mentioned. Anyhow, the bearing will be going back, I don’t feel like Chinese made “OEM” bearing is worth 100$.

They're simply drop shippers and don't stock any inventory. So yeah, it's likely gray market.
