Kinda the point I suppose. Fuel for YOUR purpose. That level of carbs for the average BITOG crowd? Fat fat fat city, checked right into storage, thank you very much.
@Pablo , is that pic saying for a meal you eat fish, fish, & fish? (not sure what that is with the nuts on top.)
If you want to see what I eat, I post almost every day, unless camping and no reception:
First I ate a chicken thigh, donated by the wife. In case I ran out of juice while cooking, you know, bonked.
This AM I steaked out a 4.72 picanha in 8 steaks, this was the tougher angled first cut, the meat was delicious
Then arugula salad, chopped, with anchovies, pickle juice, spices, green tabasco and EVOO
Then lettuce from garden as well with pumpkin seeds, almonds, ACV/Huckleberry Balsamic, EVOO
Scroll back if curious.
@Pablo if you were to have a strenuous long hike or bike ride (no e bike) in the morning would you run out of gas?
See below, I provided an answer within context of this thread about MYSELF. Probably not worded correctly, and too late to edit.
Not at all. Not even close. I've done it multiple times.
That kinda of thing is mostly mental and partly old people tales. Even 15-20 or less BMI people have plenty of fat to burn plus what is in your gut is good for 24+ hours.
Let me apologize for the above response.
In context of a person going really hard for a long time, sure a person could run out of fuel. Athletes. People really really driven.
Do I run out during hard hiking or hard bike riding? No and in fact my BG goes UP during hard quick response reactive activities and goes up during both strength and endurance weight lifting. MY BG goes up in a hot shower (somewhat of an artifact). But drops decently rapidly after those activities. My BG drops after my single meal. (you read that correctly). This is because my body sees a need to send some insulin into my blood. Also when I walk the dog or just stroll, my BG drops off a cliff and plateaus around 85-95
In some ways I am a strange beast. I am what the new term is. LMHR. Lean Mass Hyper Responder. My idling BG can be a little high.. This is OK if a person is not fat. My blood lipids are high, but I have almost no very small LDL molecules. All the LDL is large and my HDL is good as are triglycerides centered to low.and has low inflammation markers. I WAS fat ~197, now 152 pounds. I had gout (high uric acid). My BP was borderline-high. Those numbers all look OK now.
Allow me to use my wife as an example.
5'5" or so. Slender Asian build. Popped a kid out. Good shape.
Eats three squares. Everyday. I was amazed how much she ate when we dated.
Anyway, big breakfast at 8am. Come 11 am (I have not eaten in near 24 hours at this point) she says she is "starving"! Now come on. Then she says she "feels faintish". Says she must have dropped BG down (I've been down to 55 and felt nothing - also her A1C is border on PRE like many people). Yet she has no idea and she won't even use the finger prick to check. My point is NOT to diagnose or pick on my wife, and she is not trying to lose weight or fat, BUT I'm saying most every person reading this thread could (not a recommendation) do some level of fasting WITH plenty of exercise and electrolyte hydration and lose weight and get better metabolic health and FEEL BETTER - the topic of this thread.
