At your local Walmart now, $2.66/qt. Walmart in South Sacramento had around 10 quarts.

It has an official license # printed on the back label to prove that it's the real stuff.

All licensed ATF+4 fluids have to meet the strict standards set forth my chrysler/dodge. Any ATF+4 fluid you buy will be the same as any other +4. All the same in other words.

Dodge even controls exactly what base oils and adds are used.

Sounds like it might be time to do the trans filter and 12qt flush on the Jeep GC very soon then

I thought 3.69 for Valvoline ATF+4 at Oreilly was good..

5.69/qt, go cry in the corner, stealership!

just ~$2.70 a quart? one just wonders what percentage of which basestocks are actually in that quart?

Chrysler supposedly controls the performance specs for that fluid. But, has anyone seen the full technical info on the ATF+4?
Sorry, but in manufacturing and on an OEM level, if demand exceeded supply, and if cost, being the dark cloud floating above grows too high, substitutions seem to always become available. I've never believed that this fluid is as special as always claimed.

Is this an endangered species? Did you get any images? I've heard that some have seen the Red breasted ST +4 as well.

That makes two of us. The only novel aspect to this fluid is the semi-synth composition. It just last longer to compensate for numb consumers and gets them through the first few years (probably 5)of ownership.

It's known that DC has tight control over the exact formulation of ATF+4. DC requires a specific Group III baseoil produced by designated suppliers, and requires the usage of a specific additive package and VI improver by Lubrizol. Without the qualifying ingredients, regardless of performance, the product would not be elegible for certification and licensing.

Both SuperTech, AA, and Valvoline's ATF+4 products are licensed by DC as an official ATF+4 fluid. So theoretically, it contains the magical mix.

Valvoline ATF+4 is selling for $3.59/qt here. SuperTech is selling for $2.66/qt. The price difference is certainly reasonable, considering the amount of money Valvoline spends on advertising compared to SuperTech. So if you were thinking that Walmart is putting out a "fake" ATF+4 product claiming to be certified, then I'm not in agreement, considering that the SuperTech product has the license # on the reverse of the bottle.

This is some of the stuff that I don't believe!

Tight control of what, the licensing?
Suppliers = lowest bidder!
