For those that have been asking about Specialty Formulations and who they are, you can view their web-page. They are a Site Sponsor, and the ultimate in Custom Formulations at an affordable price. You can view there products here:

Also included in Group V are the Alkylated Naphthelenes and the Alkylated Benzenes, which may be finding their way into PAO formulations.

This was on their webpage. Mobil 1.

Is this the company Terry has been referring to? Looks nice.

Nice to see another company offering a GL4 75W-90 transmission fluid. The price is a little above Red Line's equivalent, but still only a third of the OEM fluid.

I see rugerman has been using at least one of their products for some time with excellent results. I guess Specialty Formulations has been around for a while?

This is THE company.

I can't wait for a line of motor oils to be offered.

They do build custom formulations for you racers !

No flash.... just high performance lubes !

Whoo Hoo!!

I've just ordered a gallon of their MTL-P.

It must be a sign of some sort of addiction... I feel like a kid on the night before Christmas over may impending gear oil shippment... Luckily I have an understanding wife

I've warned her that they are going to offer engine oil formulations as well at some point in the future... She's bracing herself

Well, I've just asked for a MTL recommendation from them via email for my Mazda. However, the email was bounced back from Yahoo saying the account has been disabled/discontinued. Bummer.

Any ideas?

(I tried it a second time with the same result.)

No edit, my error

Terry you have been alluding to this company for awhile now. Not once did you mention that this is "THE Company" that makes the "Purple Problem Solver" Gun Cleaner / Lubricant.

You really are going to have to give better hints in the future.

Mike, they were just allowed to open the website so getting the email response over the holiday may just have to wait until Monday.

Gene, I am known for keeping good secrets even when I am talking about something ! Comes in handy in this cut throat industry.

Finally a oil company that formulates for the user and not JUST profit.

I still don't know how they can make a profit using the high quality components they do.

Support this company BITOG, as they may be the only Holy Grail of lubes.

Weatherdude, if you are one of the team of Tornado Chasers this is your lube for those hard and long driven vehicles. Should be a great replacement for the Redline products and support a BITOG company ! Be safe this spring !

Michael, When you go to their web site, they have a message board that you can post questions about application or uses relating to their products.

Gene K,

The Purple Problem Solver is also the ultimate lube for fine fishing reels. Both Baitcaster and Spinning reels. (Not sold for that purpose)I discovered this when looking for a lube that beats the expensive $7 a 1/2 ounce Japanese lube which is to thick and wears off.

Terry,

I'll have to try 59 Vetteman's approach. My email was kicked back - they'll never get it.

I hope they can get the web kinks worked out.

Michael

I am interested in the classic Car Engine Preserative. This will be a good additive for my vehicle that see less than 300 miles per year.

I am also liking the Synthetic Anti Wear Supplement.

These formulations look like the hard to obtain oils, especially the gear and manual transmission oils.

59V,

Thanks. I just tried it again and it seemed to work. I also did post the message to their message board.

I'm REALLY looking forward to working with these folks!

Michael

Based on what Terry has said previously about these people, I'm excited.

A synthetic GL-4 transmission oil would sell well down here.

Their product page doesn't list the MTF-Glide that is in the FAQ. It would be nice to have a Friction Modified - Synthetic ATF ( 7.8 cSt ) that is designed for a manual trans without paying the $20 Qt Ford wants. Especially if it is a superior product. Guess I will have to contact them once my trans is fully broken in.

Gene

Mola, would this product be a bit better in a Ford manual (Mazda M5OD) over the redline blend you previously recommended?

So it is clear to all, what are Terry's, Mola's, and any other BiTOG folk's affiliation with "Specialty Formulations"?

I think a clear straightforward explanation of the relationships may cut down on the questions in the future.
