I mixed Mobil 1 with some Mobil 2 and ended up with Mobil 3!
Don't forget to tip your server!I mixed Mobil 1 with some Mobil 2 and ended up with Mobil 3!
Wouldn't that be Mobil 1.5?I mixed Mobil 1 with some Mobil 2 and ended up with Mobil 3!
I don’t think anyone’s getting mad. People are just stating the facts which might be contrary to what others may want/think. And yes, there are rules. You are allowed to do whatever you want, but we are not free from consequences however minuscule. I’m allowed to jump off a building, but that doesn’t mean the rules of gravity don’t apply.I think
If you want to mix up some oils
Go for it
There's no rules
And if someone here gets mad, who cares.
Do your thing op
I couldn’t sleep with myself at night.Had to resurrect this thread to brag about my frankenbatch. I got tired of all the partially full containers in the garage, so my older Jaguar X-Type's 2.5L V6's recent oil change is an epic mix. Car has 236K miles on it.
1/2 quart of M1 10W-40 Mx4t (racing 4t motorcycle oil)
1.5 quarts of M1, 10W-40 High Mileage
1 quart of M1 10W-30EP
1 quart of M1 5w30EP
1 quart of M1 15W-50 red cap (very old and dark colored)
The rest is modern M1 15W-50 silver cap, clear amber color.
Runs nice and smooth. For the last 100K miles, I've been using M1 10W-40HM. I'll probably leave this oil in there for 10K miles. The car keeps running, but it is falling apart. I'll probably drive it till something fails.
