Hi,

My homeowner's insurance wrote me a letter statng that I need to install a railing on a pat of my deck. the deck is made of that grey composite wood that is supposed to last a very long time.

Ill need to buy some, and then I think I will trim a corner off of my deck, to make it easier to maneuver my cars by (Its very tight)...

Is there anything that I need to worry about or have any precautions over regarding cutting composite deck?

Do I need a special blade to cut this stuff? I have a worm drive circular saw that is up to the task, but I dont have a good blade for it...

Any suggestions???

Thanks!

JMH

get a blade in the 40 tooth range, your worm drive probably doesn't spin fast enough to use a 24 tooth on composite decking. Freud's Diablo line is excellent and inexpensive. you should be able to pick up a 40 tooth blade for less than $15.

I did mine with corbine tip blade just get one and cut slowly. It cuts like a wood.
Good luck, and use a stainless steel screws. I screwsd mine throu the side so there were no holes in the deck and it does not worps so far looks great.
