Special Fluids and Oils

Yep, I stumbled upon these guys a while back. Let's just say that they are definitely charging traffical bear for most of the import OEM fluids these days. Would be interesting to find out the composition of that fluid, wouldn't it, but @ $37 for the 50 mL (which I don't know if that is even enough to do an analysis on), plus the cost of the analysis, that could easily run a Franklin, just to find out about a fluid that not too many here actually need.

Disclaimer: I apologize to those Toyota owners that DO have to use it.

Wonder if the $57 oil for the supercharger is similiar to the fluid used in the GM 3.8 blower on some Buicks and Pontiacs. Someone told me that stuff is Mobil 1 5w30. How accurate that statement is I do not know.

Not accurate at all. GM Supercharger oil is almost water clear in color, and has an odor unlike any motor oil, including M1 I've ever owned. I'm not sure what it actually is, but it's not M1 5w30.

Does anyone here have a supercharged 3.8? My buddy used to have a GTP and he changed the supercharger oil with the GM fluid that it called for. I'll see what I can find out about this oil.

Couldn't find out a whole lot about the actual oil that goes into the supercharger, although I did find this pic of a supercharger's guts. Can anyone here explain to me what I am seeing and if the "vanes" or whatever they are called actually touch the casing like a rotary. I think not but I am curious if anybody here could give a little tutorial on GM superchargers and the oil spec'd for them. A lot of websites talk about the smell of the fluid but that's about it.
