I have approx. 25K miles to go under warranty in both my 2006 Accord and my 2005 Pilot. I have 9 quarts of Amsoil 0w20. Both cars call for 7,500 OCIs. I would like to run MC 5w20 for the remainder of the warranty. Which would be a better way to make the most of my Amsoil investment until my warranties are up:

1) Do two complete 7,500 OCIs using Amsoil, one in each vehicle.
2) Do 4 blended 7,500 OCIs using 2 quarts of Amsoil with 2.5 quarts of MC, 2 in each vehicle.
3) Do 6 blended 7,500 OCIs using 1.5 quarts Amsoil and 3 quarts of MC, 3 in each vehicle.
4) Save the Amsoil for 1.5 - 2 years until the warranties have expired and then run it for 9K to 12K OCIs. (Using MC until then with 7,500 OCIs) I should note the Amsoil is currently about 9 months old.

Does anyone see anything wrong with mixing Amsoil with the MC?

my vote: #4

me personally I would not mix the two. From what I have heard it is ok to mix same brands with different weights etc... but usually not a good idea to mix different brands

maybe do whatever you want because you wont have any warranty issues unless you let the oil become road tar.

If amsoil is solid to 12k how do they know when u put it in?.

these warranty questions make me wonder. my view is obsess about a woman if you need to fixate.

i think pablo says amsoil will cover the motor anyway .

One ,I would hazard to guess, is more likely to total the car than have a motor oil related warranty problem- provided a minimum of diligence is exercised in maintaining oil level
and quality.
