Hi,

Im going to be looking at replacing some battery cables with bigger ones, on my 24 year old diesel, and some heavier ones on some of our other older cars where it may help out with power/grounding.

Anyway, Ill try to buy from http://www.custombatterycables.com/parts/just_parts.htm

But it is not clear how I spec out terminals and lugs for my battery/frame ground points. Do I spec lugs by the diameter of the bolt that it is attaching to the frame with? Do I spec the terminals by the ID of the terminal when it is bolted down to the battery?

I will be going with at least single aught cable, short runs as possible, and perhaps double aught for the diesel. but I need to spec the terminals/lugs to fit, for this custom job, and don't have a clue how to.

Any insight into how to best do this, would be most appreciated.

Thanks,

JMH
