Accel plugs are Nippon-Denso.

well ford plugs run off the same line as autolites. Well at least they did a few years ago according to my friend that interned there for his engineering degree.

NGK is a top line plug. Their platinum Iridium hybrid is my favorite.

And honorable mention to AC/Delco for the platinum tipped plugs they install stock in our vans. 400k miles on one without a change!!!!

400K miles! You beat me!!

I suspect once the center electrode erodes enough, it stops eroding further. Obviously, you need to have enough oomph in the ignition system to jump the huge gap and I suspect most CoilOnPlugs have that.

Motorcraft plugs works awesome on Fords...I went over 220K on my [99] 4.6 with no issues with the plugs...The car still got great mileage and was running as smooth as could be...I still have the originals in my 05.

Any particular reasons people here don't seem to like Bosch? Actual bad experiences with them?

Most of our cars have come with NGK, from a variety of manufacturers. Ac Delco has been good, and I tried the autolite iridiums in my truck, they seem good too.

I usually can go to 100k with AcDelco Platinums. Either that or Autolite and NGK.

As far as Bosch goes I have used them in my Jeep 2.5 with no issues thus far. But I paid next to nothing for them.

NGK

Sure, they are used primarily for Japanese cars, but many American cars and German cars have them.

Sometimes an ACDelco spark plug is really just an NGK with different writing on it.

I'm sure Denso plugs are great, too, but not as many places have them.

Most Japanese cars *hate* Bosch; I have personally experienced it and have read about it over the internet.

GM cars generally hate Bosch too.

I dunno gents.........

My Dads' Caddy Northstar V8 has 54K on a set of Bosch Platinum 2 and I have about the same miles on a set of Bosch Platinum 2 on my Siverado 5.3. Both run perfect.

I've talked to plenty of people who've run Bosch plugs in GM cars, (especially in j-body cars like mine) that will run horribly on them. That is why I went with NGK.

and we've run Bosch plugs in GM vans for a decade!

Never a miss or sputter.

We don't use them now, because the stock AC/Delcos never seem to die. But the whole "Bosch is bad" thing seems kinda like internet hype to me. I used to put those plus 4's in everything.

And we have a few different rides around here!

Motorcrafts for Escape.. autolites might be the same but easier and not more expensive for the Motorcraft name. NGK for the Festiva seems to work the best.

Bosch super start... never seen a plug like this. Don't know the mileage on the plugs. All the others were fine that one came out of #3. I've had misfires on the Bosch 2's and 4's so I don't care for Bosch's. Didn't check compression but it ran fine before pulling.. just better with the new NGK's!
