Just noticed John appears to be referencing himself in this verse

I thought that song was about a quack chiropractor

A little bit off topic, there's a really great song by Dido called "Don't Leave Home". Beautiful song, and the chorus goes:
If you're cold, I'll keep you warm
If you're alone, just hold on
'Cause I will be your safety
Oh, don't leave home

It's a song about drug addiction, but many people ended up using that as their wedding song not understanding what it was about and thinking it was about two people taking care of each other through thick and thin. She felt pretty bad about it from what I read.

It was always clear to me the song was about going out drinking and taking drugs but having a "bad trip" ending up feeling sadder than before.
