Pretty cool, Tool. I especially liked that Cutlass that pops the big wheelies (natch).

Have you checked out F.A.S.T. racing? I think it's mostly a midwestern thing, but it's amazing how quick those cars can go on skinny little bias-ply tires.

Are you talking about the blue Cutlass at 2:40? - yeah, that was incredible. Wheelie at will..

So, why does everytone think the Charger in TFatF against the Supra was some B.S.?

*I don't know anything about muscle cars.

This one.. Real or NO?

The guys running F.A.S.T. are amazing. There are at least two cars (Dave Dudek's 1970 Road Runner & Lane Carey's 1971 Mustang) running 9's on 6" wide bias-ply tires!

No.

Thats a good one! As an Oldsmobile guy who has a 70 cutlass and a 49 Olds fastback I can appreciate those cars. In fact I know most of them from other car forums I frequent.

In my youth, my first new car was a 69 Olds 442, red, 4 speed with positraction. I never got a ticket in it, but every time I lent it to someone they got a ticket! Great fun, puching it on entering a interstate ramp and going 100 in 3rd gear at the end of the ranp. Once I left Dayton, Oh going to Chicago at 530AM on Thanksgiving morning with a full tank of gas, I was doing 110 most of the time in Indiana, but then had to slow down since I was running out of gas and no gas stations were open. 11 mpg in summer, and 10 mpg in winter...only would run on 97 octane leaded gas.
But times have changed, and now I drive a 2005 Scion Xb, the box car. But I miss my 442 every once in a while!

Ahh s, the 442. I know the 66 looked different (and faster) than the 69! I put together model kits of the 442. The 66. And I saw the pic of it, vs the 69. I like the 66.

Now.. Is it true that "You can do a burnout going 60MPH up until about 100MPH?" My Dad used to say that, about his. <--- Was he lying? (Either '66 or '69 442, Hurst. I know they had either a "Three on the tree" or a "Four on the floor.." But was he full of it? Could a 442 do that?) Always wondered. (Then he went to Stingray Vettes...)

Answer- I do not know. But my 442 has positraction. When I would "go against" something like a 69 Camero SS, the SS at the start would raise its back end and burn rubber and slowly move as compared with the 442 with posi which lowered the back end, and did not burn rubber, and just moved out! I remember several other times doing about 50 mph, and hitting the gas in 4th. The 4barrel carb opened, and the back end when down and the rocket moved!

I can do that in my mustang when spraying. Heck I can break the tires loose at will spraying nitrous. Incredible feeling.

What kind`ve Olds is that red one that says M and J performance on the rear panel in the very first race? That`s my favorite car of the bunch!
