Some good base oil info from CVX

They updated this recently and did a great job. Heck, I can now even compare the aniline point of their Group 3 to XOM's alkylated napthalene...that indicates solubility which is important for additive solubility and engine cleanliness (by solubizing crud). On another note, I was surprised how much napthenics are in Group 3: 17% or 14%, for the 2 viscosities. Also note that as said before, oil makers can't make thick Group 3 oils efficiently so they don't. Chevron's thickest Group 3 is 7 cst at 100C. So that limits how much Group 3 can go into high viscosity motor oils (mostly 40 weights and above).

Yeah...most of that info has been there for a long time. But it is nice to see it updated with some new information.

You know what a non-disclosure agreement is?
