some comfortable shoes?

Can someone recommend an extremely comfortable brand of sneakers/shoes?

At work, I travel from site to site, and find myself on my feet for 8-10 hours every day.

The 17 dollar walking shoes from costco are not cutting it.

However, neither are the expensive Reebok Zigs sneakers.

Found myself at the shoe store looking at walking shoes, and was promptly joined by a 80 year old man.

Running shoes seem too stiff for me, walking shoes seem to be targeted towards seniors.

I'm wearing Nike lunarglide4 right now (my job requires me to wear really comfortable shoes for long hours at a time)...got them from factory outlets at a comfortable price.

I long gave up on Costco shoes, and some other cheep stuff I bought from Walmart (not supportive at all).

Clarke's Wallabees were the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. The only problem is the soles don't hold up to chemicals very well.

I stopped wearing them because no one sells them at B&M shoe stores anymore.

I can recommend turning your socks inside out before doing anything else. Suprisingly its helps. I like Adidss but to each his own. Feet is like your back, you only have one so be good to them.

Surprisingly, heavy duty work shoes are really comfortable for all day work. There are several brands, ones that are hand made in America that would fit the bill without looking out of place in an office setting. They cost more but they last a long, long time and once broken in are vary comfortable. I've got a pair of Wolverine shoes that are over 30 years old. I've put a new soles on them a couple of times but that's it. They fit too well to replace them and they shine up just fine. Throw away shoes don't suit me after having a really good pair for a while.

Best shoes for standing and walking around all day are Birkenstocks. They are used by Chefs and Doctors alike. Extremely durable as well, I have a pair that are 17 years old. Can even be washed in the dishwasher they are so tough. they are a standard in the culinary world where you must often be on your feet from 10+ hours a day. no other shoes that I have tried even come close. The biggest drawback is that they are a bit funny looking. My brother and friends used to call them the river dance shoes. c'est la vie.

For me, I've found that the Mephisto, Match are really comfortable for being on my feet or walking quite a bit. It seems that with every step I take my feet are being massaged. Quality is great and I now have several pairs in my wardrobe. The nice thing about Mephisto shoes and boots is the fact that you can have them reconditioned from the inside out, when wear takes it's toll. They are made of leather and take a shine very well.

Others selections to consider for comfort are Danner Explorer Boots and any of the USA made "Red Wing boots.

I said it before and I'll say it again: SAS. San Antonio Shoemakers, made in San Antonio, Texas. The best shoes I've ever had. They are a bit pricey, but they are comfortable, lightweight and durable. I prefer the Time Out and 'Bout Time styles, they are a casual shoe, but dressy enough. They also have a line of sneakers that are similar in looks to a New Balance, but I believe more comfortable.

I purchased a pair of Sketchers Relaxed Fit lace up casual shoes/sneakers at Kohls about a year or so ago. They are a little wider in the toe area and very comfortable. Unfortunately, they have since discontinued that specific model shoe but still have the Relaxed Fit line in various styles sold at Kohl's and Amazon. Based on my experience I suggest you give them a look.

I know lots of folks( even family members) who swear by sketchers, but I've never met a pair that didn't kill my arches.

I'd probably look at some type of cross-trainer shoe from New Balance... I believe the USPS have some sort of contract with them, so I'd assume they are a comfortable shoe.

I run in Nike Shox, but now switching to the Reebok Zigs. Hopefully, I won't have the same issues that you have with them.

I run in New Balance and wear Ecco shoes for work. I also use inserts, which could make a difference if you find the right one-- a green Spenco in the New Balance and black Superfeet in the Eccos. I used to run in Saucony shoes until the fit started changing from what I liked.

I wore a pair of Dunham oxfords (made by New Balance) at work for several years. You might try them if you want leather shoes. I couldn't find a replacement I liked, so I got Eccos instead. Very lightweight and comfortable.

You didn't say what kind of work you do, but I doubt $17 Costco shoes will cut it for much of anything. Even most of the running shoes at places like ****'s are "lower" in the product line. A shoe store or running store could help you find a good shoe, and that may be worth it even though the first pair will be more expensive than you're used to. Web sites like Running Warehouse, Holabird, or Road Runner sports have a lot of information about the different types of running shoes, and they sort the models by type.

Another vote for NB. I've got a few pairs of their cross-trainers, and they are very comfy. You can also order them in extra-wide sizes if you have wider feet, like I do.
