Wind, rain, and hail are 3 of the biggest reasons against solar on roofs anywhere. And Florida has more than their fair share of all 3. And also is the fact for most people the "savings" never materialize in the time frame they project.

Hurricanes and solar panels seem like a swell combination to me.
Then they did the math too late. Many realize they will die long before reaching their ROI.
I just checked; their website is down. Could be bad. I will look into this.Is the company that sold/installed the panels still in business?
Of note, someone once calculated that it would take 2 miles of adjacent solar panels to power all national interstates 24/7 365.we have a few solar field installation projects here in South Carolina. Some are right next to the interstate - makes sense as that land generally isn't wanted for much else.
South Carolina tried to build a reactor and failed - spectacularly. Good to know your limits.Of note, someone once calculated that it would take 2 miles of adjacent solar panels to power all national interstates 24/7 365.
Yet we have 2.2 billion years of viable nuclear energy available to us. If we are to de-Carbonize, there is one way to do it. With enough excess energy to pull as much Carbon from the atmosphere as we would like to, and separate out the Oxygen.
Yep. Take away the free money to buy an EV and that will fall flat on its face too. My fingers are crossed for a change later this year.I’m reading the posts in here and wondering what many are thinking. CA vs FL solar.
Just like EVs if the public doesn’t subsidize this stuff with their tax money it falls on its face.
Well the fact is Florida ratepayers never paid the people with rooftop solar panels the outrageous prices for the excess power they sold back to the grid that CA paid and FL ratepayers don’t have the sky high costs that CA does either.
So once again we have Federal tax money paying homeowners to buy the equipment but once CA stopped forcing its ratepayers to pay homeowners inflated profits for the excess solar power they sold back to the grid like @JeffKeryk gets, The industry in CA fell flat on its face considering CA power prices are dis functionally high compared to the rest of the nation it is a telling story that the solar industry does not stand on its own when your money doesn’t pay for other peoples solar power.
Take away the free money and _____

I mean, come everyonenone of this stuff makes monetary sense without others being “taxed” to give others money to buy it.
Take away the free money and _____ (nothing)
Stop giving up to $11,000 per car in free money to EV purchasers and the same would happen to the EV industry as is happening to solar in CA.
Public in general cannot think critically and why we owe 35 trillion dollars
That is why I don't have them. Plus, my wife thinks they're ugly. I think in another 10 to 20 years, solar panels will be a lot cheaper, more durable and better looking. New houses will be built with them as standard eventually with one or two 220V outlets in the garage. Many realize they will die long before reaching their ROI.
Vegas also has Palo Verde. It actually depends. With the way EVs and AIs soaking up all the excess electricity, there may not be a duck curve soon and all the extra electricity would be used, eventually, instead of having near negative electricity during mid day and then almost not enough during early evening to ramp up fossil fuel plants.
Las Vegas has a lot of solar panels and cheap electricity. A company I used to work for move its data center to Vegas because of that.
Well, when the doctor gives me 6 months …Many realize they will die long before reaching their ROI.
I have been saying this for years. There was an article that said they predicted as many as 90+% of current companies selling residential solar will go bankrupt within a year, after the government subsidies run out. Your link supports those numbers...... Just like EVs if the public doesn’t subsidize this stuff with their tax money it falls on its face......
